Reaction-bonded ceramics

History
M Cubed Technologies has been producing reaction-bonded ceramic components since 1993. We experts in both the reaction-bonded silicon carbide and reaction-bonded boron carbide systems, developing more varieties of each than anyone else in the industry.

In addition to our material expertise, we have also developed processes that allow us to form very large, complex shapes. The combination of material and process led us to produce panels as large as 3 feet square, virtually eliminating the large number of weak seams present in systems that use small square tiles.

Multi-hit performance
Traditionally, ceramics have rarely been used in large armor panels because of concerns with multi-hit performance. However, with help from the US Navy, we have demonstrated new geometric designs that, when properly integrated into an armor system, have been shown to completely eliminate the crack propagation normally seen in ceramics-based armor systems.

Monolithic ceramic seats
M Cubed has manufactured over 1000 one-piece ceramic seats that have been integrated into multiple helicopter platforms. This same technology can be used to make any number of custom shapes in situations where tiled designs are either too expensive, or simply don’t perform adequately.
